The New Covenant Literal Application Code (NCLA) is an interpretive guide used by the authors to indicate which person categories a mitzvah applies to, and at what level of literal compliance.
It combines person categories such as Jewish, K'rov Yisrael, and Gentile, together with male/female distinctions and an application level such as mandated, recommended, optional, or prohibited.
This code reflects the authors' interpretive opinion and is provided for prayerful consideration. On this page, the technical code is summarized into plain language to help new readers understand it more easily.
Detailed codes: GFm - Gentile female, mandated | GMm - Gentile male, mandated | JFm - Jewish female, mandated | JMm - Jewish male, mandated | KFm - K'rovat Yisrael female, mandated | KMm - K'rov Yisrael male, mandated

It is not possible for a man to bear no fruit at all. By merely being alive, man will bear either good fruit or bad fruit, and Scripture makes it plain that the choice is ours. Only good fruit results from our abiding in (being united with) Yeshua, and he is quoted to have said: " apart from me you can't do a thing. " That is not to say that isolated instances of good fruit can never come from a person who is not united with Yeshua or that God cannot work His will through an unbeliever. However, Scripture is exhorting us that if we want to bear good fruit for God we must be (and remain) united with Yeshua, and then (and only then) will good fruit from us be assured.
This Mitzvah is not addressed by any of the Jewish classical commentators.

Linn asked God to send her wherever He'd like. Little did she know God’s response would include pigs, ducks, and a way of life that would bring hope across her community. Download this film and check out the small group discussion guide: https://movingworks.org/project/linn-bought-the-farm
This is a picture of Jesus' metaphor of the Vine in John 15. In this image we see the perichoretic power (the power of indwelling) that is the heart of the Gospel.
